Seikai ga Wakaranai

High school student Matsuzaki Misaki appears to live alone with her mother, Michiko, but the real Michiko died three years ago. Unable to let her go, Misaki has been living with a “Resurrection AI” created from her mother’s photographs, conversations, and other personal data. Misaki has kept the truth hidden until her older sister, Nanami, unexpectedly discovers her secret. As questions arise over the cost and legality of maintaining the AI, Misaki also begins to realize that the digital version of her mother may contain memories and aspects of Michiko’s life that her daughters never knew. Forced to confront uncomfortable truths about her mother, her family, and her dependence on the AI, Misaki must reconsider what it truly means to hold on to someone after they are gone.
